After taking the radio out of the '67 Mustang, I decided I'd remove the Kenwood 10" subwoofer (KFC-XW1000F) and Kenwood Excelon amplifier (X500-1). I had these previously in my Tundra and grew tired of them sitting around after selling it and put them in the '67 Mustang. I'm not sure why but it seemed really out of place to have a subwoofer in a '67 Mustang despite sounding great.
I don't drive the '67 Mustang an incredible amount and the car as actually so loud that I don't know that you can fully appreciate the stereo system. With all that in mind, I'm removing these to put them permanently in the '93 Mustang. I've decided to create a box that fits within the spare tire well. I happen to have most of a sheet of 3/4" MDF so there shouldn't be much cost in the project.
Despite the subwoofer and amplifier being near 10 years old, they both look and sound great.
